They bite, they squeeze, they’re ready to please. This year’s shockproof autumn theme called for a deep dive into a pool full of tramps, harlots and courtesans, and lo and behold, we managed to fish out the 1970s Filipino-American exploitation gem Vampire Hookers, tangled up in a web of corny jokes and pockmarked with some goofy acting performances, maestro John Carradine being a special treat. Playing a sinister vampire, he sends out a horde of undead beauties to bring back victims for his dinner, catching two virile sailors in his net. And since the film will be dubbed live from stage into Czech by our marine shockproof duo Bifidus-Vokurka, giving the story a distinctly flatulent twist, it might be a little tricky for English-speaking members of the audience. So, if your Czech is a bit rusty, you better start polishing it up. You’ve been warned! Hello, sailor.
