The legend is back! From the deepest dungeons of 1980s fantasy trash returns the mighty warrior Deathstalker. Basically one of the clones of Conan the Barbarian who roamed the wastelands of B movie kingdom in the glorious era of VHS, Deathstalker was a hero of four movies that were produced by the grand wizard of low-budget sorcery Roger Corman. Each of them was made by a different team of filmmakers and presented a story that had little to do with previous entries. The new movie continues in this tradition but this time it is a product of love and appreciation of long time fans of the original. Steven Kostanski is a master of old-school monster effects and Deathstalker is another of his nostalgic B movie homages that are ironic but at the same time true to the original. Be prepared for a large dose of gory fighting scenes, ugly monsters, devilish sorcery, old dark gods and guitar riffs provided by another Deathstalker hardcore fan, Slash from Guns N‘ Roses, who composed the title song and is credited as one of the producers of the movie.
