Double Creature Feature

HorrorSci-fiThriller

The Shockproof Film Festival is going back to the good ol’ days with its one and only double feature. Let us return to the USA in the 1950s, when horrors came to cinemas in a twosome of black-and-white B-movies and were accompanied by shorts about atomic energy, ads for overpriced popcorn, hot dogs and soda pop in a lobby, an animated warning against DUI or a raffle with valuable prizes. Our double creature feature will thus offer two classic monster films bridged by a collection of bizarre advertising spots and other gimmicks that made up the double bills at the time. We will start the evening programme with a treatise on human smallness The Incredible Shrinking Man, and after a fun-filled intermission, the screen will be ruled by a towering creepy-crawly called Tarantula.
