Jennifer's Body

HorrorClassicQueer

Teenage girl Jennifer is not just high school evil – she possesses diabolical powers that allow her to kill anyone she wants, mostly boys. Despite a lukewarm reception at the time of its release Jennifer’s Body is now considered a horror classic with feminist or even queer undertones. And rightly so. Directed by Karyn Kusama and written by Diablo Cody, the wild, visually stunning movie filled with an indie rock aesthetic is one of the best horrors about female growing up. It has been widely interpreted as a film concerned with themes of rape culture, sexual harassment and queer aspects of high school friendships.
